Last time I went to Srisailam was on a motorcycle, on 31st December 2011 - covering around 500km in a day. 13 years later, I preferred a 4 wheeler.
The main Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga and Bhramarambha Shaktipeeth do not allow electronic items, hence no photos.
A note to anyone planning to visit these places - queues can be long. We took same day Ati-sheeghra (अति शीघ्र) darshan tickets from the counter but it is quite possible that even those queues get long by the time you arrive. it is highly recommended to reserve darshaan slot via srisailadevasthanam.org in advance.
Srisailam area has many more things other than the Devasthan and the dam. This trip does not include them. Maybe some other time!
The route passes through Amrabad tiger reserve
Krishna river, you can see the Srisailam dam far away
Krishna river
Bridge on Krishna river - On one side lies Andhra and other side is Telangana. (Telangana was carved out of Andhra in 2014)
Srisailam Dam
Sakshi Ganpati - one has to get the blessings here before heading to main devasthan.
En route main devasthan,
Nandi and Bhairav
(technically, invisible Bhairav on His ride)
No photos allowed at Jyotirling and Shaktipeeth
Dinner time!
